About Me Matthew Buckley
Hey there — I’m Matthew Buckley, a Loan Officer with loanDepot, based right here in Scottsdale, Arizona.
I’ve been in lending for over five years, helping people tap into their home’s equity, refinance for smarter goals, or buy their next home with confidence. What I love most about what I do isn’t just the numbers — it’s the people. Every loan has a story, and I take pride in helping my clients turn theirs into something bigger: freedom, stability, or just a fresh start.
Before lending, I cut my teeth in sales with Tesla and SolarCity — two companies that taught me the power of innovation, integrity, and always putting the customer first. Those lessons stuck with me. Now, I bring that same energy into every loan I touch, whether it’s helping a first-time buyer or structuring a creative equity solution for a long-time homeowner.
I’m part of Team Funderstruck and our Scottsdale crew, where we push each other to grow, serve, and lead with heart. Around here, we don’t just talk about being the best — we prove it with how we show up every day.
Outside of work, I’m usually exploring the road in my RV, working on creative side projects, or finding ways to make the mortgage world more transparent (and honestly, a little more fun).
At the end of the day, my mission is simple:
help good people make great financial moves — and enjoy the process along the way.
Meet Luke
Every great story has a loyal sidekick — and mine is Luke, my 13-year-old Boxer and best friend.
Luke and I first met in Spain, where I lived for the first two years of his life. From that moment on, we’ve been inseparable — in fact, he’s only spent two days of his life away from me. He’s been with me through every move, every milestone, and every challenge, always by my side with that unmistakable Boxer spirit — loyal, goofy, and full of personality.
In August 2025, Luke suffered a stroke that left him unable to walk. It was one of the hardest moments we’ve faced together. But if you know Luke, you know he’s got the heart of a fighter. Through patience, therapy, and that classic Boxer determination, he’s walking again — and proving every day that resilience comes in all forms.
Luke is incredibly talkative (you’ll hear him before you see him), insists on being part of everything, and takes his job as the household inspector very seriously — especially when the groceries come in. His energy, curiosity, and unwavering companionship remind me daily what loyalty and persistence really mean.
He’s not just my dog — he’s family, a constant reminder of what it means to show up, push forward, and love without conditions.
